La Sartiglia

In entrambe le corse i cavalieri al galoppo devono infilare con la spada una stella. Il termine sartiglia deriva dall’iberico “sortija” che a sua volta risale al latino “sorticula”, cioè anello. During both equestrian jousts horsemen have to catch a star with a sword galloping on their steeds. The word Sartiglia comes from the Hispanic “sortija” which evolved from the Latin word “sorticula”, which means ring.
